Title: Engineering a Scalable Topological Quantum Computer
Abstract: Microsoft’s quantum architecture combines topological qubits with tightly integrated cryogenic control electronics. This talk explains how Majorana modes are utilized to encode quantum information, how parity measurements enable qubit operations, and how these devices scale into fault-tolerant arrays. It also explores the engineering challenges of controlling many qubits at millikelvin temperatures and highlights recent advances in materials, packaging, and qubit lifetime that move the platform toward a scalable quantum machine.
